Based originally on a 1976 LHD 2.7 litre S and converted to reflect the highly-rare and iconic car personally owned and used by Steve McQueen in the 1971 film, LeMans, directed by Lee H.Katzin.
All body panels are in new steel, with the exception of composite bumpers. It is built from a bare-shell with blueprint engine, refurbished bilstein suspension and brakes, SSI manifolds and stainless silencer. Built for touring with reclining Stewart tartan/leather seats with matching rears (bespoke options available).
The vehicle was original acquired by an investor and remains unused. It presents a great opportunity to jump our waiting list and acquire a bespoke build from Rennsport.
The car still retains its late specification 3.6 litre engine but with ssi manifolds and LeMans rear silencer, G50 gearbox and the added benefit of the 4-wheel drive system derived from the 959 with power steering and Brembo power assisted brakes. The car was built for Goodwood Revival 2015 and will now be undergoing a comprehensive blueprint engine build ready for a new investor owner. It is extremely unusual to find a build to this specification using this model base car. Available for £95,000, we have had an exceptional amount of interest in this car and a deposit is required to secure before completion.
